چکیده

Several studies have been conducted to improve the mechanical and other value-added properties of glass fiber-reinforced epoxy (GFRE) composites by addition different fillers. In this work, waste iron filings (WIFs) obtained from steel industry were incorporated into GFRE composite samples in varying amounts up 50% (%w) their electrical properties. The results showed that, with increasing WIF loading 0 w% 50 w%, resultant density gradually increased 1.4 2.1 g/cm3. Surface hardness, Young’s modulus, tensile strength also significantly 9 followed a significant drop more due agglomeration. Overall, modulus any content was higher than that no WIF. elongation at break less ductile upon addition, which decreased 2% 0.6% terms conductivity, 15% or electrically conductive conductivity content. It clear needed establish percolated network render them conductive. containing WIFs around 2.9 kS/m 35 WIFs. These novel could be promising for structural dynamic monitoring systems construction industry. They support efforts utilization materials towards circular economy.

Creep Behavior of Basalt and Glass Fiber Reinforced Epoxy Composites

The creep behavior of basalt fiber reinforced epoxy (BFRE) and glass fiber reinforced epoxy (GFRE) composites was studied through tensile testing at high temperature. To study the effect of reinforcing epoxy, the micro glass powder (MGP) was added at various volume percentage into the epoxy resin in BFRE composites. The initial strain for all the specimens were evaluated and compared with each ...

Enhancement of mechanical and electrical properties of continuous-fiber-reinforced epoxy composites with stacked graphene

Impregnation of expandable graphite (EG) after thermal treatment with an epoxy resin containing surface-active agents (SAAs) enhanced the intercalation of epoxy monomer between EG layers and led to further exfoliation of the graphite, resulting in stacks of few graphene layers, so-called "stacked" graphene (SG). This process enabled electrical conductivity of cured epoxy/SG composites at lower ...

Mechanical properties of woven glass fiber-reinforced composites.

The aim of this investigation was to measure the flexural and compressive strengths and the corresponding moduli of cylindrical composite specimens reinforced with woven glass fiber. Test specimens were made by light-curing urethane dimethacrylate oligomer with woven glass fiber of 0.18-mm standard thickness. Tests were conducted using four reinforcement methods and two specimen diameters. Flex...
